Scenarios Scenario 10 — Workplace conflict

Scenario 10 — Workplace conflict

Tension with a supervisor is growing, but the real issue still needs to be framed carefully.

Situation (full narrative)

Nina has started dreading meetings with her supervisor. Nothing explosive has happened, but the tone between them has felt off for a few weeks now.

A couple of recent conversations were shorter and sharper than usual. One time her supervisor corrected her in front of other people, and even though it was a small point, Nina has been replaying it ever since.

Part of her thinks she may just be carrying normal workplace stress and reading too much into a tense season. Another part feels like the relationship is genuinely getting harder.

She has thought about bringing it up directly, but she is not sure whether that would clear the air or make everything more awkward.

Now she is going into work already braced for tension, even though she is still not fully sure what the real problem is.

Training exercise

  • Write the situation in one sentence without assigning motives to either person.
  • List the observable events that actually happened.
  • Separate those events from Nina’s assumptions and emotional replay.
  • Identify whether the dominant issue is relational tension, misunderstanding, fear of conflict, or wounded pride.
  • Choose one Authority card that places God above the relationship strain.
  • Choose one Identity card so the intercessor remains steady and unbiased.
  • Choose one Situation card that best names the workplace pressure.
  • State the prayer focus in one sentence.
Use this to tighten your framing, not to chase details.
