Week 4 – Complex situations

When things are not simple

Short summary

This week stays in discernment, but now looks at situations that are layered and not easy to understand. Complex situations require patience.

The goal is not to name everything at once. The goal is to identify what is most central right now so prayer can stay clear.

This week helps participants notice layers, separate pattern from event, and resist the urge to force quick answers.

Learning goal

By the end of this session, participants should be better able to:

  • distinguish the latest event from the deeper pattern
  • identify one primary situation before adding a second-pass issue
  • resist the urge to stack cards or jump to warfare too quickly

This week’s practice focus

Take a situation that feels layered. Ask what is happening on the surface, what might be underneath, and what pattern, if any, is repeating. Then write one sentence that captures the real issue, not just the latest event.
